Hévíz is the source of healing

Lake Hévíz

Lake Hévíz is the largest natural spa lake in Europe. A true rarity, its water rises from a 38-metre deep spring cave, which is a calcium and magnesium-rich bicarbonate spring. The temperature of the lake reaches 37-38 degrees Celsius at the surface in summer and does not drop below 24-26 degrees Celsius in winter, making it suitable for year-round bathing. The special properties of the lake, which is unique in treating rheumatism and musculoskeletal disorders, also help to cure other ailments thanks to its rich mineral content. However, the thermal lake of Hévíz not only provides a bathing experience, but is also the basis for traditional spa treatments and health-promoting wellness cures. The town has a well-developed network of services, where the variety and high quality of care is in keeping with the unique character of the town.

Then and now

Just one and a half kilometres from the centre of Hévíz is the Egregy district, famous for its wine cellars and gastronomy. Strolling through the rows of wine cellars in Egregy, you can find tranquillity and taste some of the finest wines of the region. There are several cellars to choose from, and the Eger district is also rich in restaurants.

Holy Spirit Roman Catholic Church

Arriving at Hévíz, you can see the white and sky-blue towers of the Church of the Holy Spirit perched on the hilltop from afar. As you get closer, you can see that the Roman Catholic church has a total of seven towers, five of which are side by side, the other two rising on the two wings of the building, which from above looks like a flying dove.
